On Thursday, Disney announced their new Disney+ prices and, after recent news from Netflix about their own price increase, it is sending a little shockwave through the business world.
While Netflix costs are going up, Disney will be introducing lower rates than anyone is used to seeing from many companies. The real question is, who is going to jump ship from Netflix later on this year? Disney now holds the ability to give you the right to see most of your favorite shows and movies, leaving Netflix and Hulu with the leftovers.
The real question is, just how long will Disney be able to stick to a $6.99 monthly rate, before having to raise their own costs? None the less, this announcement seems to be an obvious punch to the gut for other streaming services.
