We do not hear a lot of sexism in hiring anymore. It exists, but silently. However, a New Jersey Gyro King recently found out how illegal it is to discriminate against women.
The business actually posted a hiring sign that specified “males only” at its location.
They are now paying a hefty fine and they must implement an anti-discrimination policy in their paperwork. They also have to train their management team on how to avoid discrimination.
Businesses that treat their employees like equals are more likely to succeed. After this recent legal roadblock and their obvious dislike of hiring women, how likely are they to receive quality applicants of any gender? The best employee isn’t always the one you expect.
