Stopping at the local gas station is no longer as convenient as it once was. In a world of delivery, is it really surprising they would do it too?
One of the best known convenience stores around the US, 7-11, now has a delivery service, 7NOW. If you want a large slurpee while at the local ball game, you can now get it brought directly to you!
Now, the real question is whether convenient stores should or should not jump on this bandwagon.
Most stores and fast food places have a way to get what you want to your door. It is a popular trend that does not seem to be dying. Is this worthy of growing into this new field?
I feel this may be overkill. The point of a convenience store is that they are convenient while you are already on the road. Who wants to pay a fortune for an item from a gas station, when a local store will sell it for less with a similar service?
I think what causes 7NOW to stand out is their willingness to deliver anywhere. You do not have to be home. You can be at the campground or sporting event.
