You know what they say about sticking your finger in too many pies… Maybe you know anyway. I am not sure I know. Either way, my fingers are in too many pies and I have very little time to split between it all. Yeah, that is it.
This is my American pride scrunchie I have been working on for the 4th of July. As you can see, a simple scrunchie is taking me forever to finish. That has a lot to do with how busy I have been, and some to do with how much I dislike making scrunchies. If it wasn’t for the fact they have the draw they do, I probably would not make another for quite some time.
I blame the endless stitches to pull it together.
Either way, as you can see I am in the bind off process. So far, I am unhappy with the pattern. I decided to try K1P1 so that they staggered. It looked good on my purple scrunchie, but I do not like how it formed with this multicolor.
After I finish off this piece of Americana for the 4th, I want to try one more multicolor in stockinette. If I do not like it, I am going to change to a different yarn. Baby yarn and other softer yarns tend to look good as a scrunchie, so it is not a total loss if standard yarn is a fail.
As a quick side note, knitting in the round has done me a lot of good. I have fallen in love with the art and love making hats because of it. Patterns that once looked complex are no longer complex. Even double pointed needles seem to be a breeze. Don’t be surprised if you see more Hobo Hats from me soon.
