Frustrated with making scrunchies, I did decide to start a basic head wrap instead. Whether it is used to hold back hair or as earmuffs in the winter, it is simple and is cleansing me from scrunchie burnout.
As you can see, I went with a gray scale yarn. This one is called, “Newspaper.” I believe it is by Red Heart.
Anyway, what gives?! I seem stuck on making things that go on the head. Scrunchies, hats, wraps… it is an endless cycle of head wear. Apparently I have created my own niche for knitting projects.
Actually, it feels nice to be somewhat back to normal. Last night I sat up starting that wrap. I couldn’t sleep and did not feel rushed for once. I just went stitch by stitch until I felt good enough to get some rest. Insomnia can be awful, but it is always worse when I feel rushed or stressed. This gave me a chance to destress for the first time in a few days.
As you can see, I am knitting in the round with this wrap. It is my first head wrap being knit using this method. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out because I did not like using single point needles for my wraps prior. The seam on it was much too obvious for my comfort.
