I did it! I have sold locally, but I have finally sold my first hat through Etsy. I am quite excited about this first. Surprisingly, it was also the first item I ever listed that is the first sale. Kinda cool, if you ask me.
With that piece of excitement out of the way, let me show you my most recent Etsy listing. It is a newborn hat that I did with interchanging lines and striping. I found the base for this pattern online and altered it so that the lines would be more defined, and I added in the striping to the pattern.
This is a neat little unisex hat that took way too long to make, lol. I actually did not anticipate how long it would take to make this hat at all. It is only a newborn hat, so when I make my first adult version, I can only imagine the time investment. Good thing I love to knit!
While I am here and I have your attention, I would like to post a PSA.
Check your local discount stores for yarn!
Seriously. I bought a large box of partially used yarn for $10 at Goodwill. I now have a ton of options to choose from for making bears and other delicate projects. The yarn is all very thin or baby yarn. Some of it was thick wool yarn that combines well into hats. Either way, it is an exciting find.
