Chronic Illness Will Not Defeat Me: Receiving My Professional Certificate for Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship

By

Professional Certificate of Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship for Angela J Shupe through University of Phoenix, CeCredential Certified.

Proof That Illness Can’t Stop Passion, Purpose, or Progress

I am so proud of that professional certificate featured above. You see, I did it. Last year, I finally completed my Associate of Arts degree with a focus on Business Fundamentals. That was all I hoped to do. It was on my bucket list, as it was my greatest regret leaving it incomplete.

Today, I opened my email to the next in a line of many accomplishments to come since this time last year: my certified professional certificate for the program I just completed.

Graduating Through Brain Fog, Pain, and Sheer Grit

For a second year, I graduate with another accomplishment under my belt. Ironically, I fought through the past year, having to deal with so many health struggles. I had classes where I thought I would have to quit. At one point, I snapped emotionally due to pure stress.

I know exactly what I lived through trying to reach this point. Receiving that email this morning was more than a moment of pride. It was having a visual that represented the true determination of my spirit and unwillingness to stay down when my health would press the brake.

I did it through headaches, fatigue, brain fog, intolerable pain, and so many self-doubts.

I knew I could do it.

Thank you! You know the struggle well, too. I was looking at your blog. ♡ I’m lucky that my school is known for its flexibility. Accommodations are relatively flexible and have helped me through some very tough moments when my health hit the proverbial fan.

Also, kudos on how hard you have worked to get through various issues like executive dysfunction. For me, it seems I hyperfocus so hard that the transition away causes anxiety, and I start having a panic attack. I just started learning the tricks to help with those transitions.

I had to subscribe to your blog. I look forward to reading your posts!
