Good day, friends! I hope this post finds all of you doing well.
I have been very busy. Last week, my boyfriend’s family was visiting. Then, on Sunday, I was hit with food poisoning that left me on the mend for most of this week.
I am slowly getting back into my routine, though!
I have plenty of good things & health-related stuff to discuss. However, my brain cannot figure out a good starting point. I’m also trying to avoid writing a book this morning.
Maybe I will share a few highlights instead?
My First Foray Into Visiting A Casino!

My boyfriend was on vacation while his family visited. So, when they were not over here, we got out of the house! This is not our norm. Neither of us enjoys going places. However, he wanted to get out and do a few things.
We have a casino a few miles from home, and we went up there a couple of times to have a little fun. We’d drop $20 and go on our way. They were short visits, but it was about having fun. Neither of us was trying to strike gold.
My first time gambling in a casino was last week. The first time, I put in $20 and left with $23. The second time, I went broke. The third time, I left when I reached $30.
I learned that I enjoy slot machines more than anything. I also learned that I have a preference for nickel slots.
It was a lot of fun!
If You Order 24 Snails, Expect That Number To Be Higher… Not Lower.

My luck with pet shop nerite snails has been… poor. At best, quite poor. So, I thought if I ordered 24 nerite snails in varying subtypes, that would likely leave me with 12 mixed types in the end.
I was wrong. So wrong.
I ended up with over 30 nerites at the end of the day, and none of them died in transport. I have since had one pass way in my tanks. I gave away 6 to someone else in the house for her setup.
This is a story best shared using photos.
The Malaysian Trumpet Snail Surprise

These guys can be seen as pests, but I will benefit from this guy. I needed help with my substrate. When it reproduces, I will definitely have to move one to each of my tanks to help out the substrate there.

Tank, The Nerite That Is Indestructible!

At 3 am, I woke up, and when my feet touched the floor, I felt a pebble. I kicked it out from under my foot without thinking twice, and went to the bathroom.
Fast forward to 6:30 am, and I go to leave my bedroom and find this guy upside down outside my bedroom door with clear physical damage to his shell. So, I put him in a small cup of tank water for observation.
I figured he had to be dead. I mean, I am a big woman, and that snail is under 2″. No way it could live through that, right?!
…I was wrong. He did live through all that trauma. Once I was aware Tank survived, I gave my snail a cool name and put it in a tank with a fully enclosed lid. Most of the damage was isolated on one side of his shell. However, he is thriving. The first photo is from after some time in the enclosed tank.

This Is The Post That Never Ends. It Goes On & On, My Friends.

If you catch the reference without the image (or catch the reference at all!), then I am proud. This is a generational thing, I think.
It also references how much more I could say, but I am going to stop here. I has been fun guiding you through some of my adventures the last two weeks. However, enough is enough sometimes!
May you all have a beautiful day. It is Fri-YAY after all!
