Good morning, friends! I know this is a bit early for a post from me. However, the last couple of days were mildly notable. I may as well get it all written out and posted now.
Then I can go back to feeling like crud and watching Taskmaster (a UK TV show).
If you like to laugh and don’t mind British humor, I highly recommend it!
Cystoscopy
Thank goodness that is over! The procedure wasn’t too bad. What really killed me were the fiery flames of hell that shot from my urethra every time I went pee for the rest of the day.
In the procedure room, everyone was a little surprised by how well I handled it. I had to laugh on the inside at that remark. You see…
My daily pain levels are worse than how that procedure felt!
I don’t think people realize how much pain I live with already. Having a camera pushed up into my bladder was a cake walk in comparison.
What did they see?
Nothing. They saw nothing but a healthy bladder!
I am grateful to hear this. Secretly, I think I did have a kidney stone that passed before I made it to the CT. However, knowing that my bladder is doing well is a relief.
Allergy Hell
I see an allergist on July 10th. I cannot express how happy I am about this. Ever since Claritin and Zyrtec stopped working for me, I have been living with on again, off again allergy symptoms.
I find that things I was already allergic to have a more intense reaction. Things that barely bothered me now trigger full allergy symptoms.
It is freaking miserable!
This week has been particularly bad for allergies. I feel like I have a permanent cold. I cannot take any allergy-relief meds right now because they will be doing tests at my first appointment.
This week has been particularly hard, though. My symptoms have been intense, and I have no energy at all. I’m not really posting on Threads right now for this reason.
Aquarist Life

Yesterday was the day for doing partial water changes and substrate cleaning in all 5 of my tanks. I can firmly say that all of my fish are much happier after the full cleaning of their tanks. All filters needed to be changed out, too.
I felt like absolute trash yesterday due to allergies, but I took a long nap and managed to get everything done after I woke up. Apparently, it was a nap of champions.
When I don’t feel good, it can be really hard to motivate myself for their partial water changes. However, it is really important to me that they have the best possible living conditions.
When I ordered my nerites by mail, I ended up with a Malaysian Trumpet Snail as a hitchhiker (mentioned here). The tank I put him in is actually the cleanest of all my tanks. I am really glad I decided he was awesome.
I tried to suction some of the more “troublesome” spots in the gravel where MJ and Bloody Mary like to eat, and found there was almost nothing to suction. It seems my MTS has been doing an amazing job in the substrate, just as my nerites do on the surface!
I could see a stark difference between that tank and the rest. I hope my MTS reproduces soon so I can transfer a baby to each of my other tanks. They could all use the same help!
Another thing I did yesterday was transfer some of my red root floaters from Arius’ tank into my other tanks (mentioned here). Zedd already had some, and the few he started with now take up 2/3rds of his water surface. Arius had 2/3rds to start, but ended up with a full layered blanket.
I am hoping they flourish just as beautifully in the other 3 tanks. Needless to say, though, Arius wasn’t happy about losing some of his surface decor. He loves his red root floaters a lot and doesn’t like it when anyone touches them. This includes snails (as seen in the feature photo above).
Today is another day of feeling quite unwell. I see more naps in my future. As for now, I hope everyone has a beautiful day!
