First, My Art

I worked on the doodle art over the weekend and cold-laminated it yesterday. I bought some holographic vinyl and used some of that to protect the work from damage in the mail.

I love the fun effect it gives my work. Check out the video to see how it hits the light.

I’m doing exchanges through Postcrossing, and I thought it would be fun to mail unique postcards!

My craftiness aside…

PMDD Hell Week

The only good thing I can say about PMDD is that I have warnings. It is damn near scheduled, to be honest. It hits me around 3 days before my monthly (which is quarterly thanks to birth control). Well, this is the week I have the onset.

Right now, I am noticing it hits me near the end of the day, when my energy levels drop. I also notice that I have almost no cravings for sweets until I have a PMDD flare. Well, that sign is starting to crop up, too.

It encompasses around 2 weeks of my life, starting right before my cycle and ending the day after I stop menstruating. While I will have smaller PMDD flares when my thyroid hormones fluctuate too much, this is the biggie.

There is a good chance I will spend most of this week and next simply avoiding people, places, and social media. My brain is a little too scattered and dramatic for all of that, LOL.

I am grateful it is now quarterly instead of monthly. I feel like I get a break to feel like myself between long flares. However, I wish I hadn’t experienced it at all. It is really hard when it hits.

Things my brain tells me during this time:

  • Everyone hates me.
  • People are whispering terrible things about me behind my back.
  • I am a terrible person.
  • Everything is annoying (so I snap at people and complain a lot).
  • Everyone is giving me side eye when I leave the house. Don’t leave the house.
  • Everyone I live with cannot stand me and wants me to leave.
  • Suicidal ideation (better off not here, etc.)
  • I will never be good enough.

The random sensitivity and crying are hard to handle. I will sob without cause. There is never a solid reason. I also get really mad at everyone and will make it clear that I am ready to fight over the dumbest things.

My tolerance level is just so low that I cannot handle the world.

All of this to say:

“Hi! I am alive! I just hadn’t felt very motivated to blog. I’ll be around… eventually!”

Have a great day, everyone!
